vesperae.author.educationJohn of Basel’s educational and intellectual trajectory is rich and geographically diverse.598 Despite this, we find two different sets of dates with regards to his lecture on the Sentences: the academic year 1365-1366 and the more recent 1368-1369. As to his inception, the year 1371 is supplemented by Marcolino with the specification: between December 1371 and January 1372. Hiltalingen’s written works have fed generous studies that traced textual sources across intellectual milieus and compiled the galaxies of socii and intertwined ideas, followed from their origin to their later use.
