vesperae.author.educationYvo Lamederii lectured on the Sentences at Paris in the academic year 1380-1381, and, by means of a papal order issued in 1382, he was licenced to incept a year later, on the 7 th of January 1383, but not with full approval. The double religious order association is due to the fact that he started out as a Carmelite, but, upon receiving licence from Clement VII in November 1385, he transferred over to the Benedictines.
vesperae.work.notesCaught in the crossfire between Jean Blanchard and Peter of Ailly in the famous Blanchard affair, his vesperies are used as evidence against Blanchard – Yvo promised him 100 francs for the licence, of which he only paid a part. Blanchard retaliated by interfering with his vesperies, and, when that did not work, by refusing to give him the bull attesting his degree. The text of his vesperies remains unknown.
